NAS style front SD cage fitted along with one of Brian's galvi skid plates. Fit like a glove, very HD, highly recommend.

I decided to tackle some self created exhaust leaks. With broken studs and unsuccessful HeliCoils later, Brian (Brewie) saved me with a used manifold. One he had on the shelf was in much better condition than mine.

Now im wiring up some Used Hella 4000s. Which will probably not be as bring as those Knock Off ARB intensitys.

Starting project at the same time as you have a newborn = Terrible idea.

Thanks guys, wish I had the rear internal cage to tie it into but one step at a time, might have just a hoop fabricated to tie into roof mounts.

Trey's 4.2 powered 110 had huge exhaust leaks @ the down pipe on both sides. He finally installed new studs, gaskets, and copper nuts bought in kit form from Joel/Buckhorn Imports and now the truck not only sounds awesome, it starts much easier, and runs much stronger. A little back pressure is often a good thing. While it was in the shop we also used a hole saw and cut a hole behind the bulkhead outrigger and re-routed the rear wiring harness from an inside the frame rail exit point to outside.
We used a RRC y pipe on his 4.2 conversion and the right side cat was less than a .5 inch from the wiring harness exit point. By re locating the exit point the possibility of melting the wiring harness is negated. This is a must modification for anyone installing a later engine/y pipe in an early truck.

I also got my kits from Joel. The gaskets were almost completely obliterated.

I also went with D2 Bolts and Spacers for the manifolds. Easier to get to now and got rid of the Locktabs. I still need to replace the Heat Shield for the Starter. The one I took off didn't age well.

Reinstalled the rear window after replacing all of the seals and felted rubber channel.

Also had to carefully trim the plastic guide channel as it turned out that I ordered channel for 4mm glass instead of 5mm glass. Fail.

My undertub supports are actually Galpin's old ones from years ago...during our first galvy run. After my rebuild, I installed the galvy undertub supports and let them weather.

Pulled them out along with the tub floor on Saturday. On Sunday, I scrubbed them down with simple green and a scouring pad and let them dry. Yesterday, I repainted them with self cross-linking acrylic primer with zinc phosphate, which is supposed to have high adhesion to galvanized surfaces. I'm evaluating this against the two-part epoxy I am using on other parts of my truck. The self cross-linking acrylic has 500psi adhesion but > 140 in-lbs of impact resistance. Two-part epoxy has much higher ratings at anywhere from 2000 to 4000psi, but potentially experiences saponification at the bond layer. Still evaluating what product works best.

Just want my truck to last for another 30 years without rust...

There had been a noise on the front of the engin.
While inspecting the timing belt I figured out my fan axle is running without lubrication.

So this INA bearing is pressed inside the front cover as well as inside the flange too, so I got a new cover.









Prepared new cover



It will take some time to get it ready and 80Nm torque +90° at the center bolt ...







... but I like him running as silence as possible.

Today I mounted the high lift to the roof rack and mounted the raised air intake. I need to source a hose from air box to the RA intake.

Thanks James. Yes, in the end it all worked out. The prior motor was very tired and in need of a lot of TLC. Drive train is now nearly new sans transmission. good feeling.

Also, the truck has a homemade roof that I've been fitting to get off. It was glued and screwed everywhere
