Nice. I'm pretty sure that you actually just installed the world's best theft deterrent, or atleast one that doesn't eat perps or kibble!

The base is an SA80 mount the top is a normal rifle mount. Only real steel SA80's or very thin barrel AR's fit in the regular SA80 mounts this why I made this but thank you.

Stretcher mount I also installed last week.

After some ignition switch issues with the new updated unit that does not have a glow tab, I added one of Robert Davis's Glow Relay which was easy to install and a fantastic addition!

So now I have a Glow relay (yes I used to be the timer), and an updated ignition switch that allows me to use 1 key for the entire truck including the doors...

Started to tear into the LT230 to inspect and service it. Not sure how many miles are on it (odo indicates 122k) but since I'm putting in a refreshed 300tdi (8k miles) and R380 (40k miles), might be a good time to inspect.

So far, things look good except a bit of rust on the teeth on the mainshaft input gear. Odd.

Any tips for getting these paper gaskets off besides a lot of cursing, a razor blade, and about 30 minutes per piece?

I have a spray can of some highly nasty gasket remover that works great. Probably had it a decade so no idea where it came from. Probably wurth or zepp or something.
