What Battery Do You Use?

My battery is shot. My mechanic recommended going with the Interstate MTP 29 but I can't find one locally. I'd rather not wait a week for one to come in unless its a big disparity in performance.

What battery would you recommend?

Thx in advance.

I've had real good luck with the Deka batteries. Just bought two of them for my tow rig.

Leaning toward the platinum diehard. Will go see if its in stock.

Thx for recs everyone.

No prob. You just have to think of your search terms the same way you'd ask the question (acually the same way you did ask the question). So most people would ask "does anyone have a great battery they'd recommend?" and then search those strong keywords.

I went with a Group 31 Sears diehard platinum marine
http://www.sears.com/diehard-platinu...1&blockType=G1

Decided against a dual battery setup and wanted a simpler setup that was more than I needed. It just fits in and needed a custom tie down. Had it made by Chris at Rovertek and it's sweet.

Sears platinum. They have similar figures to Odyssey but have a way better warranty. I have one in my Defender and Disco. If I get a power leak or something happens where i kill the battery time and time again (which happens in these old trucks when a wire gets loose or cut) I just bring the battery back no questions asked and get a brand new one.

Keep your receipt.

Just went through this. Sears Diehard Platinum. 4 year full replacement, 100 month prorated replacement. Readily available at Sears everywhere with your choice of standard Group 34 (can go dual battery in a Defender) or Group 31. The Marine version's warranty is 3 years full replacement though. Sealed AGM. And you can catch them on sale...just got one for $214 out the door, but Ive seen them for under $200 smackers.

Interestingly enough, the single connector G 34 costs more than the dual connection G 34s.

Vatozone sells an AGM battery called "Duralast Platinum".

It is a re-branded Deka. In fact, the rebate I got on one was issued by Deka.

Deka makes a good battery and Vatozone is everywhere.

Id like to see that. I guess everything is truly bigger in Texas. Including property taxes I found out this weekend.

In your part of the world they might still be called Autozone. Out here it is Vatozone.
