Welding the Backdoor

Given the cost for a 2002+ rear door (plus shipping from the UK and then paint) I have decided to try and restore the OEM rear door.

It seems as though I should be able to add some bracing to the stock design to make it more durable. has anyone done this already? I fso, do you have any "lessons Learned" or photos you might be able to share?

Thanks in advance.

Other than stripping to bare metal where you want to weld, it shouldn't be too hard to fix/reinforce it.

I sure looks like it will be easy enough. Knowing it will only break again, I'd like to add some braces.

And man... that door has some U-G-L-Y factory welds.
