weirdest thing happened! electrical related

Hi Fourm memebers, good day to all

yesterday i was doing some routine maintenance on my 97 nas d90 and i took the center console to do some claening under there, so i did and put it back, after that the car wont start, heres whats happening:

you put the key in, turn it to start the car, nothing happens, wait a few seconds and you hear a relay click then you can turn over the engine, so it does but the car doesnt start. engine turns over fine and strong but it wont start. the weirdest thing is the few seconds it takes for the relay to click so you can start the car, its like something is temporizing it. a few hours before the car was running just fine, and then this happnes.

I am clueless!

thanks for the help

found the culprit, the switch that locks and unlocks the shifter on my A/T trans was all grimey and it was for whatever reason activating the inmobiliser.

Old aviation axiom- if you do something in the cockpit and the propeller stops, undo what you just did----and quickly.

Glad you found your gremlin. js
