Water Pump Issues
So to make along story short, I'm in the process of changing my water pump, t-stat, hoses etc. Lesson learned, if you change your fan clutch you might as well do the water pump too. A week after installing the new fan clutch the pump went bad dumping all of my coolant. That's a mistake I won't make again.
So, I'm in the thick of it right now and have hit a road block. I've removed hoses, 2 belts, fan and clutch. But I can't seem to get the water pump pulley to break loose from the pump. I removed the 3 bolts attaching it, but it just won't budge. I did a pretty exhaustive search and couldn't find any discussion of this. Do I need a pulley puller (and if so what kind works here)? Or am I just an idiot (wouldn't be the first time)?
I've thought about just going ahead and removing the pump, but I'd like to have more room and eventually I still need to get that pulley off the told pump. Also, any tips on removing the t-stat? Pretty tight space there and just wondering if anyone had a method that would make life easier.
Thanks for the help.
