Warn Wireless remote to a 3 wire winch Help

How can I wire the remote to my Warn 8274? Wireless control cord has a red, black, brown, Green and Orange wires. I know the Red is hot the Black is ground and the brown and gren should contol the selonoids but what the heck do I do with the Orange wire. The remote was supose to just plug in to the remote reciever but I cut the wire and want to wire in direct.

Hey dana try this :http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/8274/
bills rebuild of the 8274 shows how to wire it

I think the diffrence betwwen the 3 wire and 5 wire controllers is a "safety loop"
you only need 3 wires to power the winch in and out.

wiring diagram here :http://www.devon4x4.com/wiring-diagr...-category.html

have fun

Gren

Dana,

Stay away from electronics bud *LOL*

Brown goes on the solenoid for winch in, Green goes on solenoid for Winch out. Orange will not apply for your winch, on a 5 pin powers the Wireless Remote box

If I am not mistaken, which if I am, is no big deal as you are not using the Orange
