VW switch for Flex alite fans

Thanks in advance for not pointing out how little I know about elec.

I have a 95 D90 3.9 with flexalite dual fan set up. The controller died and someone rewired the fans to "igniton on- RUN".

I have purchased the VW temp switch for the tstat housing conversion as the cleanest option for me.

Now for the big laugh, do I assume I switch the black or negative side? Or the hot side?

See preface above.

I don't quite understand your question. But, I had the FAL 295 fans with their VSC.

You can buy a new VSC from FAL, that is the best course of action.

You can get the 31165 for $99.

Generally VW switches the positive side of the switch (the fan motor is connected directly to ground). If you give me the part number, I can tell you how they wire it provided the part number is from a model between 85 and 2004 ( I've got a bentley library at my house).
