Viscous fan coming on

I just put in a new viscous fan (original) and it seems to be coming on alot more. Today it is like 58 here and in traffic it keeps turning on and then off one I get moving. I just don't remember it doing that before at these temps?
Thanks

It's quite likely a new one would engage more than a worn out one (I'm assuming you installed the new one for that reason).

I installed a new one because my last one was making noise so I would rather be safe than sorry. I just don't remember it coming on in traffic when the weather was cool...don't remember it when I had my 94 also. It seemed to only happen when it was very hot out.

Pretty normal in my experience for a good one. If it locks on then you have issues, but as long as it goes off, be happy.

If you're concerned, make sure the radiator fins aren't clogged (very common condition if you off-road at all).
