how to remove

Guys- I have never taken the fan clutch off before. I am taking it off a parts rig I have to use as a trails spare. I got a big crescent wrench on it, and I was ignorantly thinking that with the belts in place, the nut would spin right off, but turning the nut just turns all the belts.

What can I do with normal tools that will enable me to stop everything from moving? I do not want to buy the thin tool at this time if I dont have to.

ratchet strap the belts together and they should hold (it might damage the belts though). Make sure you are turning in the direction as well.

Hit the wrench with a hammer. If really needed, jamb something between the belt and pulley.
