correct in 2009 Maine stopped issuing titles, so you are supposed to keep the previous title. for 5$ they send you a Certificate of Title Letter (cheaper for them to produce) which would serve as a title if you sold it to someone else. Its funny the hoops each state puts you through....all comes down to how much $ they can make off of you.

It was pretty funny paying 137$ in excise tax though LOL.

Andy,
Are you talking serial number? If so there is no numbers on the block.
Model number:
Look above the lift pump on the block near to the joint with the side cover.
12J = landy 2.5nad
14J = early sherpa 2.5nad
15J = later sherpa 2.5nad
19J = landy 2.5T
21J = i think taxi 2.5nad

Lift pump if the first fuel pump. It lifts fuel from the tank to the filter. It should have a tab to manually pump the fuel to prime the system.

Mine appears to have a full serial number above the lift pump. And it starts with 11J, not 12J. I read that 11J is a MOD specific version of the 2.5NA

If it's an ExMOD I doubt it matches anything on the truck.

Oh I know it's been replaced. It's got a metal tag where it was rebuilt for MOD.

Wow, in RI I didn't even need it to get inspected at all. I just gave them the Bahrain Registration and a bill of sale and I was done.
