Very high idle, sorta, just appeared yesterday

Well, I wanted to check for a part number on the ECU connector.... so I disconnected it, saw nothing useful, and reconnected it.

Now, since then, when the truck is cold it idles at almost 2k RPM. As it warms up, the idle kicks down in 250-300rpm increments and eventually ends up back at the usual 750rpm. Prior to this, it ALWAYS idled at 750rpm all the time.

Is something wrong, or WAS something wrong and I am back to normal now?

Nope, mine does this after the battery has been disconnected or the ECU. It stops doing it after a few days.

Ditto--mine took about a week to relearn itself.

Also, never discount the obvious. Mine was doing this once, but it was only because the accelerator pedal had pulled out a grommet along its path (close to the throttle body) and was stuck partially open.
