Vehicle temperature question

What temp should me D90 run at? I have a VDO gauge, and it was running at 180, but after replacing the water pump, viscous fan and thermostat, it is running between the first and second lines above the 180 mark (so about right in the middle of the gauge). Where should it be running?

I run between 180 and 210. Anything above 210 and I get a bit worried unless I am loaded down or something is happening like a long hill climb in hot weather. I don't get really worried till about 215, but definitely shut it down much over that (I don't like to be above 220). Below 180 and it is too cool (at least not optimal). I have seen others that run in the 200-215 range day in and day out, so comfort zones vary.

mine is consistantly running at what I would guess to be about 210, which kind of worried me because before it always ran at 180

Got a part number on the thermostat you put in? There are a couple different temperature ones available, you may have put in a higher rated part.

had the same question although mine seems fine. The factory replacement thermostat I put in was a 195degree. I'm used to a 180 in about everything else I've got. It seems fine though. I didn't even think to ask what temp when I bought it.
