Value of a 97 Black

This is for sale locally. I saw it today and it is very clean and very stock. A neighbor wants it. What should a 97 with this mileage go for? It is rust free. He is hoping to offer 25k and get it. Not sure if a 97 in nice shape would be worth that little. Thoughts?

If it looks good in person it's probably going to go for 29-30ish.

A Black 90 like mine...$1 million of course. Ha!

Oh you mean this one...It looks pretty clean from the pics. Not sure if 80K is considered high mileage on a 12 year old vehicle or not. Someone here said Black was one of the most sought after colors, not sure if that's true. 97s usually sell in the mid to high $30s and over so I'd think that $25 would be a good deal as long as it's mechanically sound. Looks like it has newer ATs and A/C. I'll take a look at it with you if you want when I'm down there this weekend.

Yellow > Black = LE willow green > Red = Greeen > White > Blue

I would say this is what valuewise plays out.

Black was a $500 option when new.

So what you are saying is 29k is still a decent deal. Blue soft tops are the best in my opinion. Only color that was one year

There was a reason for that. They did not sell very well at all. Yellow was the highest demand as you can tell from the last batch of 95s which were mostly yellow. On the other hand, I do tend to agree with you that blue is a good rover color. My 1959 is marine blue. It just is not as popular. Of course, there is not that much difference in price between the colors, but yellow and black seem to do the best.

Yeah I know what you mean about blue. I remember the dealer telling me they didn't sell well. In typical fashion though I think what doesn't sell well usually becomes collectable. That is why I put my 90 at a estimated value of 700k

I want a Beluga Black ST, maybe Red then green. Yellow last on my list. I bet that one will look a lot worse in person, the sun seems to have taken its toll, probally no rust. I bet it will need a few thousand to get it perfect. Id low ball him with 22k then go up. The brush bar is tweaker and the PS wing is dented.

Perhaps, the crazy colors of the 60s and 70s porsches are worth litterally 10s of thousands more than the white ones. I hope that holds true for my lotus because it is crazy green gold and they only made six in my color.
