V8 belt noise/frayed

Fan belt is frayed and making noise, I'm assuming it will snap in the imminent future. After looking at all the belts, they are all a bit tired.

Does anyone have part numbers for the belts from a local auto shop (like a Napa) or do I have to get LR belts?

I need to get this ASAP as this is my DD. And, any links on how to do this would be appreciated.

It's a 1995 NAS 3.9 V8.

Thanks,
Alex

You dont need LR specifics. Just go to your local parts store and they can look them up.

Alex, NAPA should have them, or worst case remove them and take with you to match them- just need to be same length.

95 3.9 should be a single serpentine belt, nothing special about it...any parts store has it.

Thanks for the responses. I was able to get the V-belt from the local parts store. After I got home I looked closer at the belt and found the Gates belt part number.

Now the question is how to replace it. I don't have a workshop manual for this truck, does anyone have a link to the service item or a link to a video online?

Thanks,
Alex

LMGTFY:

I followed the video and got it done in about 15min with standard tools in the garage.
May require a little patience working the belt off, then back on.

Yes. Mine is a V-belt. That would be awesome if I could by tomorrow. With my recent Rover luck I'll turn this into a disaster on my own.

Tomorrow afternoon can work--shot you a PM. Don't worry about them breaking--it wont. You could probably still lift an engine with it. They are incredibly tough and strong, frayed edges or not...

Thanks. It's missing some teeth too. Glad to hear it's tough.
