Using a Izuzu 2.8

Has anyone heard about this, or know anything about using an Izuzu 2.8 engine in a d-90?
I was talking to someone the other day, and they were saying that this is the way to go... just thought i would check with the resident experts here as to the validity of this statement.. .

I am relatively certain that Green Oval in Portland, OR just put one of these in a 110. It looked pretty sweet, but I am by no means the expert. The folks at Green Oval are super friendly and you might just give them a ring.

What's the hp on this engine.

I know the 300 tdi hp rating is about 110.

So I'm thinking the 2.8 may give about the same if not higher?

Anyone know for sure?

I know a mechanic here in Tulsa that put that motor in a 109 and he thinks it is okay but not sure if he would do it again unless no other options are present. He had to make many modifications, etc. to make it work. It was also just as expensive as using some of the other diesel options.
