US plates

How are you guys putting them on UK trucks? Holes in the plates to align with the UK plate holes or what?

For my ROW 110, I bought a plastic license plate holder from advance auto parts. I drilled some holes through the plastic holder to correspond with the existing holes on the truck, then mounted the plate to the holder with the included frame. See pic below. If you'd like, tomorrow I can take some more pics of how I got it to fit.

Yeah. That seems like a good way to do it. I assume those visible screws are only holding the plate to the plastic thing?

Correct. The visible screws attach the plate and frame to the holder. The screws holding the holder to the tub are under the plate. I'll take some more pics tomorrow.

UK trucks (new ones, or from the mid 90's onwards) very rarely have screws on them; the plates are just held on with several strips of double sided sticky tape.

Although I tend to screw mine on, just to be better secured.

Not that any mid 90's trucks ever make it over here, that would be illegal.

Somewhere in a beaver swamp in Ontario there is a Virginia license plate from my old 88" that was less than securely attached.

My '86's was just held on with double sided tape (that was a 3 headed whore to remove). 2 rivnuts later the US plate was fitted.
