Upgrading door latches... What to do about door cards?

Question for you fine friends. Iíve got a RHD 1983 110, 5 door. All windows are the original sliding-style windows/doors. I want to replace the latch assemblies as they are getting a little wonky and Iíd like something a bit more secure (one door popped open while offroading last weekend). Iíve been looking at these from Rovers North.

My main question is around the door cards. Did anyone ever make a door card that would accommodate the newer interior anti-burst handle, AND the old sliding window style doors? I spoke with Rovers North today and they said they donít have anything without the hole for the rolling window. Iím assuming others have done this upgrade on an older 110? If so, did you fab a new card, or has anyone made an aftermarket version? Iíve been usuccessful in searching online.

thoughts?

(I attached some photos; sorry I'm not able to rotate them to the correct position)

Oy, been trying to wrap my head around this dilemma too. My doors are the same setup in an 83 110 3 door. They work ALRIGHT, but definitely an upgrade I'd like to make in the future.

Interested to see what people suggest.

Yeah, the lack of responses makes me think there isn't a great solution. I think I may have to go with a custom door card that I'll need some local shop that do that specializes in custom interiors. Not optimal but may not have much of a choice.

Are you looking at doing the anti latch doors too?

Well, my current latches are probably on death's door (pin intended). My passenger one only works bc a shop I brought it to figured out a way to weld it in place.

I actually really like the current setup, but finding replacement mechanisms is apparently a bear. At least by converting to the antiburst latches will mean it's a more standard Defender setup.

Yeah, I took the cards off and fiddled with them all to get them to work a bit better, but like you said it's only a short term fix.... They aren't long for the world I'm afraid.
