UPGRADED Rear SW Door

I'd like one of the new 1-piece rear doors for my '97 SW D-90. The original door is cracked in many places due to the weight of the tire.

The stealership told me they can't get the parts.

Anyone here upgrade their rear door? If so, how did you get the parts?

Anyone hear if the upgrade is worth it?

I am trying to determine whether or not I should just weld the old door and add a Mantec tire carrier.

New rear door is totally worth it.
Much nicer door card.
Galv door skin over a frame that is much stronger.
Rubber window seal.
Disco tire carrier.

I rewelded my door frame and went the Mantec route on my 110. The frame cracked again.

If you see the two doors next to each other you would see there is no comparison.

Is the newer rear door plug and play? I've put almost 50k of 84k on my SW, its had a tire on the door maybe 5k of those miles. I was surprised to see my door had a small crack in the frame.

From everything I've read, looks like a resounding "yes." Cheaper by the dozen? Sounds like we have 2.

I have one of the new doors on a truck I'm building here and its a much more robust frame. Pain in the a$$ to mount the rear glass in the rubber gasket compared to the old design but much better design.

if I run across one, I'll let you know. I'm looking for one in Arles Blue should you find one.

Also, I have a quote for one from Lucky 8. More info as I have it.
