Unusual oil pressure readings.

I installed an ISSPRO electronic oil pressure gage about 6 months ago. #R5621R http://www.egauges.com/vdo_ind.asp?T...VA_R&PN=R5621R

It has a sending unit that runs to a module that connects to the gage. Seemed to be running correctly; 8-10 psi at idle and 35-40 psi at 2000 rpm. A week ago it developed a mind of its own. Instant and dramatic changes in pressure reading. All to the very high end. Pegged the gage frequently. Never went back to the 6-10 psi range. No real clear correlation to rpms. Sometimes idle at 40 psi some times at 60 psi. Checked the pressures with a shop gage and found the pressures to be with in spec. Before I pull the entire unit I thought that I would see if anyone has been down this road before and might give me some guidance.

Thanks
Steve

Sounds like it's grounding out somewhere, I'd look for a loose or chafed wire. Either at a connection or possibly where the wire passes through the firewall.

Pulled new wire from sender through module to gage; same symptoms. Guess it is new unit time.
Thanks
