Nice thought but it will be a long time, if ever, before active noise cancellation can tackle everything a Defender throws at it.

These systems are typically only capable of covering a certain frequency range effectively and even then only to a certain level of attenuation. Nissan added it to the new 2015 GT-R and I drove one back to back with a 2014 model and it did cut down on certain droning engine and road sounds but it's not a magic solution that will cancel everything. And the GT-R is no where near as loud as a Defender.

It would take some mega wattage in the system and gigantic speakers to drive enough 'opposite phase' sound to silence a Defender.

I bought a set of Bose 20i headphones today for long trips in the Defender. Hopefully that will do the trick.

(b) A person engaged in the operation of either special construction equipment or equipment for use in the maintenance of any highway.

(c) A person engaged in the operation of refuse collection equipment who is wearing a safety headset or safety earplugs.

(d) A person wearing personal hearing protectors in the form of earplugs or molds that are specifically designed to attenuate injurious noise levels. Some people aren't pussies and like the noises they make. If I want quiet I'll buy a Lexus.

Some people dive them everyday...

I'll take mine with sound deadening

When I redo the load area I'll probably add dynamat under the acoustic mats.

The exmoor front mats work pretty good but next time I'd add dynamat as well.

You live in Arizona and pulled up the law for California? Geez. Besides, who said I was going to be driving with these in California? This is my Utah truck.

Do you only want opinions from Californians or Ute's? Say the word and 90% of us will ignore your posts. A NA diesel in mountainous Utah (well above sea level) will be screaming like a banshee with or without hearing protection but like I said, I'm happy to place you on my ignore list.
