UK Tire Carrier - Extreme 4x4

Does anyone have any experience with this tire carrier?

No experience with those. Hmm...isn't Extreme4x4 the new name for Scorpion? Not that there's anything wrong with that...

that looks exactly like the one I got from AB - except for the door mount. Mine is a larger, square plate. Everything else (including the Hi Lift mount and brackets) looks identical. Pivots aren't bushed, which could be a wear issue, but at least there are zerc fittings.

Black paint or powder coat over galvanized, so good protection there.

It works well. Would prefer to see some adjustment in either the closed position bumpers or the ability to ridgidly adjust the side-to-side of the door mount pivot as this affects how tight the carrier is when the door is closed. The long plate and pivot shown in your link has oval holes for this, but that can slip and loosen the way the swing away lands over time.

got no install directions with the kit - as is the norm for British products.

I have one of those, cost me 100 les than the advertised price on that web site but that was about 8 years ago. It was good but the spreader plate above the light box internally didn't fit too well. had to take the angle grinder to it. It is very solid but the powder coating came off the mounting brackets. It rattled as the holes weren't drilled in quite the right place That was probably my fault.

Also available here but no price.

I think I got mine from WVA holdings that have now become Safari-equip

I try not to deal with Scrappy Iron Racing or whatever they've morphed into.

temporarily can you pull the bolts and throw some neoprene washers in the joints? Thats how I got my ROW/UK rear door "rack" to stop squeaking
