U Joints

I would prob. replace me rear u-joints soon because when I grease them, grease only comes out of one cap and the other 3 do not seem to be lubing. When getting new ones? Should I go with an aftermarket unit like a spicer or similar and does anyone have part #s or where I can buy them?

When the uj heats up they all get lube. I had the same issue on the d1 for 6 years they never bit it. I deceided to replace when I was building my centers. The old uj's looked fine>

Randy do your self a favor & get the Spicers. They will be the last ones you get!

5-4x I have a good source for 35$ per thats plus 8% for tax. You should be able to find them for 30 or so.

Does someone know difference beetween "Spicer" brand
and "Hardy Spicer" brand ? are they different houses ?
Spicer brand has a good reputation, Hardy Spicer (also
know as GKF...) is supposed to be a top quality aussie
part maker...
Any light ?

5-4x is a Spicer number, but they don't make the 5-4x's themselves, they farm them out.
Neapco's # is 1-0005 and is available from driveline shops for about $35, or reboxed as PDQ for Autozone for about $15.
Here's my post about them on DiscoWeb
http://www.discoweb.org/forums/showt...t=25491=Neapco
I haven't looked in to the 5-153x, but it's a very common u-joint so probably the ones sold by Advance aren't made by Neapco.
