yeah it's running so we'll deal with it when he gets here, probably pull it apart tomorrow and check it. He needs grit under those nails...

So small update because I haven't got into the problem yet...had to pop the clutch to stop the motor. Power was still flowing to the electric fan and dash, disconnected primary negative cable on the battery and was still energized, had to disco a secondary accessory cable (have no idea) to cut it all.

hmmm? Sure the key is turned off? It is a strange feeling to turn the key and not have the engine die. The first time it happened to me I turned the key back a couple times.

Yeah thats the first thing I "double checked" of course I question any competency through experience with the workings on and in a Landcover...everything seemingly turns the "wrong way" or is on the "wrong side" so I'm always checking!

FYI, there could be other issues. I have not researched everything that I need to do yet but I received these links.

Engine will not turn off? Fuel cut off solenoid stays on. How to fix. - Land Rover Technical Archive - LR4x4 - The Land Rover Forum

https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rov...rn-off.259062/

200 tdi won't switch off - Defender Forum - LR4x4 - The Land Rover Forum

The rear wiper switch is now my engine shut off switch. It works most of the time.

Thanks for posting the links.
I'm having the same issue, and it started when I replaced the diesel solenoid.
At first I thought I didn't install the solenoid correctly, but the problem is intermittent, and if I turn the key slowly, it turns off 3 out of 4 times... And when it doesn't, the battery light comes on. It makes sense that I may be getting low voltage feedback... I'll have to try the wiper switch, before I take the dash off.

Darn it.

When I disconnect the wire to my solenoid the engine still runs. I would guess that it is stuck open and I need a new open or clean it. Either way I need to take it out.

Anyone know what the cross reference would be for this at a local shop? Advanced, Pep, etc?

Thanks

Call Trevor at Rovah Farm and give him the engine type and year. I'd go genuine.

delphi solenoid

Hi, I replaced mine a while ago. My aftermarket one had melted the plastic cap.

Trevor does not, or at least didn't at the time, carry the OEM solenoid. I got an OEM Delphi from Oregon Injection for $63 while RN carried the same one for $240 if I remember. After seeing mine, I didn't mind spending ~$40 more for the Delphi versus white box. P/N 7185-900w.

Rebuilt injection pump, injectors or turbo for your Perkins engine.

Just noticed your 110 is a tdi, may be a different solenoid.......

My 200tdi does this also periodically. I find that if I just goose the gas a little it cuts off.
