Hi,
Newbie here - so please do easy on me!
I have bought a Defender 90, 1990 Model, with a 2.5 Deisel (NON-Turbo) engine. I have been provided with an option to upgrade to a 3.5 V8 from a Ranger Rover (Petrol) which I am not too comfortable to do.
Another option suggested is to install a Turbo in the existing engine.
I have been reading (from the time I get). What should I opt for - a Turbo or a Supercharger? In fact my question should be - can a Turbo indeed be installed on a 2.5 D (Non-Turbo) engine in the first place? If Yes, some makes and reference website would be highly appreciated.
I am NOT looking for speed per se, I am looking for more power when off-roading. I have been told replacing the fuel pump, vacuum pump and starter/self and alternator (as the engine has been given a clean-health of bill by the Land Rover specialist here).
Thanks in Advance.
Babs.
