Trying to figure out snorkel routing - any ideas?

I'm trying to fabricate a snorkel for my Defender and there appear to be a couple of issues that are unique to my car. It's right hand drive so the heater box and air intake are on the right side side (all descriptions are facing the car). I don't think there is any way to run the hose through the fender as that stuff is in the way. (as can be seen in the picture) Mounting it on the left side might work but you have to run the hose all over the place to get to the airbox.

Any thoughts? I can't find any pictures of a snorkel install for a RHD 2.5 NA diesel Defender.

Does your truck have the side vents behind the front wheels? I have seen snorkle kits that use them instead of the wing top vents.

Boy, and I thought the NAS truck snorkles had some obstacles to overcome.

No side vents but

I'm thinking about cutting one out if that is ultimately the way to go for the snorkel.

You might want to pose this question on the Land Rover UK Defender Forum. Lots of experience with RHD over there.
