Weldon,Follow the wires from the top of the tank to the rear passenger wheel and disconect. There are 4 wires 2 of which are black(earth) switch on ignition and using a circut tester see if you have a live feed. You can get a tester from any auto store for a couple of $$.screwdriver type with a bulb on top with an earth wire.earth the wire and hold the point on the live wires if the bulb lights up on both its more than lightly you pump.have you checked your fuel gauge is that still working??
one wire is pump the other fuel gauge
hope this helps

Thanks Jimmy,

I'm going to try this in the morning, hope I can get this right...

Just puzzled about the black box, I see 3 to 4 lines going to this box & it appears to be all fuel lines ?

The black box in the wheel well? That is the charcole cannister thingy, not the fuel pump. It is there to catch escaping gas fuems and junk.

Talking Fixed !

Well, after several days of me trying & then several days at the repair shop the problem is solved !

During my trys I purchased relays that CarQuest Auto parts store said is a replacement to what I needed, WRONG !

CarQuest, what a bunch of fat @%&%, well the one I dealt with ?

Yep, bad relay, thank god no big bill (for now) !

Before I had the truck towed I order 2 new BOSCH relays due to these relays throwing a code 88, did not make since ? The truck was towed Monday, the repair shop did not think it was the fuel pump so they moved on to do more testing, the relays I got today, I went to the repair shop with relays in hand, too out the old relays, BANG, it started...

Well, yes I do need to pay for towing & a bit of testing time but the bill will be a bit less now no new pump being installed, thank you god...

The cost of the BOSCH relay was $12.08 (got 2), I got them from rockauto.com, roversnorth was asking 45.00 for one, as for ordering them from rockauto.com, no big problems, had them in 2 days, ordered them on Friday had them Tuesday & now I'm back on the ROAD !

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP - d90.com is great !!!

Yes, truck is running now but with one exception:

truck seems to be running rather high, the RPM's appear to be around 1000

Before this issue my truck was running between 0 & 1...

My question is, is 1 for my RPM's high during idle?
