Transmission crossmember on a RRC

Hey guys, I just put in a new tom woods drive shaft on my RRC. When I was putting in my new springs I noticed when the axle was drooping the front shaft was hitting the frame crossmember under the trans pan. Do I need the crossmember or can I just scrap it. I guess it can be lowered some too if needed...

Thanks

Modify the crossmember.

Is it the round one or the square one?

What kind of suspension did you put on?
I wouldn't think under operating conditions it will be a problem.

Round, I'm gonna notch and plate it. It's fine on the road, but will be a problem later on the trail. RTE 3"

Weird- I had Rovertym 3" springs and 1" spacers on my '91 with 35" tires and never hit my crossmember.

I was running a D2 front driveshaft.
