Transfer Case Rebuild

I need to swap out my Disco 1.2 t-case for a 1.4. Can I keep my current case and just swap over the gears? The donor t-case is a Defender t-case, so different linkages, etc.

My truck has a Disco 1.2. The proper t-case for a 200tdi 110 is the 1.4. I just installed some larger tires and now really need the extra 'ooompf"

Im just about to put a 1.2 disco into my 83 with 200tdi...i'll be using stock tires and mostly street and highway...
how did it drive without the big tires on it? I've got the 1.6 in there now and its tough getting over 50mph...I was hoping this would make it drive more like my D90...

I think you'll be okay if you stick to stock tires, but others might have a different opinion. My truck had 33s on it and was sluggish leaving the starting line on a hill, but could cruise fine on the highway. I now have 35s and the gearing is off.

Linkage should be basically the same b/w a DI and a D90 t-case.

Good to hear, I now have the gears and will do the swap this weekend. Anyone have any tips? I've done plenty of Jeep and Willys t-cases, how hard are the LRs?
