Transfer Case Flange Removal & Bolt Replacement

I have a new to me transfer case which appears to have stripped, cross-threaded and bent bolts on the output flanges. At first look it appears that I can just remove the large self locking nut, slide the flange out and swap the bolts, replace and secure nut. Is it really this simple? What I don't want to have happen is it remove the nut and pull on that flange and things go sideways.

I assume I will need to replace the self locking nut and the felt washer. Anything special about either? Does anyone happen to know the size of both the felt washer and the self locking nut?

Yes, it is that simple. Undo large but, pull flange off by hand. Be aware some oil will come out. You might want to replace the seals at the same time, and yes, the nut and felt washer. The nut is a normal M20 nyloc nut. Make sure the nut is properly torqued. They like to come loose.

The bolts are regular 3/8" x 1-1/4" UNF as well with nyloc nuts if you want to source locally. Always keep a good supply of 3/8" UNF nuts on hand...
