Transfer case fill plug

Does anyone know where I can get a T-case plug that's like a pipe plug, you know, with the protruding square that you can put a Crescent wrench on ? I'm tearing the hell out of the covering to the E-brake pull cable housing cover using a 1/2" drive breaker-bar ? Are the threads on the T-case NPT pipe threads ?

Thanks,

Use a pipe, but don't smoke it!

Common part and if it's too tight...
Put a pipe on the end of the 1/2" breaker bar to get the plug out.
This may require you to get it up on a lift for clearance issues.
Obviously some chucklehead torqued it like ten men tight!
Over tightening is a common problem.
A tapered steel pipe plug will cut it's way into a softer aluminum casting rendering the hole bigger or even too big.
Assuming the plug is out...
Wrap the plug in a plumbers type tape and after the T-case if full of fluid screw the plug in until it is as tight as you think it should be but not too tight (25lbs torque will work).
If the plug keeps going in stop when it is flush with the casting.
Then clean the outside of the area where the plug and the aluminum meet with thinner and wipe clean.
Then spread some silicone black silicone sealer over the seam between the plug and the T-case housing.

Good to go, bro!
