Trans went Boom

Driving down the freeway the other day and I pulled off to get fuel. Shifted into first gear to pull away from a stop light and I head a Loud BOOM followed by a lot of clunking!!! Darn, I thought my t-case slipped out of high into neutral or something. After shifting from high to low and locking the center diff it still didn't move

Have you tried 2nd & 4th just for fun?

Sounds like you might need some of those nasty, oily, machined bits that RoversDownSouth have so much experience with .... Rob?

I know it is blasphamy but I think Im actually going to go back with a chevy 5.3 4l60e auto combo....

Nah sayers all around but I can get the engine and tranny for what it will cost me to rebuild the trans or switch to an auto. All I have to do is figure out what t-case or adaptor to use????????

It will be the prototype for my next project

Rebuilt it ... replace with one from Rob ... either way.

All depends on your $$ vs. Time.

I rebuilt the LT77 in the old sedan, and it wasn't too scary.

I replaced the LT230 in the Disco with one from Rob.
