Trail ratings....

In attempt to plan my trip to Colorado and possibly Moab, I realize that I am not familiar with the trail ratings. I have found many sites breaking down the rating by lift tire size and so on. I am looking for thoughts from anyone having experience with D90’s on these trails and ratings. The truck: 97 LE, 255/85/16, 4.11, Trutrac/Detroit, Diff guards, ~2” OME, and sliders-depending on availability next week. So what trails would you recommend for fun, a challenge, or a no-go. I know that driver skill has a lot to do with it so say an average driver w/ some common sense. Any thoughts/recommendations are appreciated……

This is a really hard question because the trails themselves vary drastically from season to season and event to event. One person may rate a trail a five and the next may think it is only a three. Then it also comes down to your willingness to hurt your vehicle and whether or not you care if you become the dreaded trail tampon.

All that said it would be my opinion that you try the three first. See if you like it and maybe if you feel frisky, try a 4. Avoid 5 and 5+ like the plague. Hope that helps.

Made it further than half of the other guys, but the Hammers won.
