When I showed my dad my D90 his response was: "That ain't American"

Of course if I'd bought a Ford it wouldn't have been even worse...

Seems there's a fine line between patriotism and nationalism.

The difference for me is A) I feel vindicated with the the war of independence results, B) Britain has been by our side more than almost anyone else ever since...and I mean in the foxholes "by our side", C) Britain gave us Montey Pithon, Japan gave us Hello Kitty, the list goes on and on...

Didn't mean to start a debate on this...I got over being objective a long time ago...standing on the USS Arizona memorial. And this is Nationalism issue for me. There were plenty of Americans (that were ethnic Japanese) that got screwed by Pearl Harbor as well.

In the realm of consumer electronics, there are really no options for us. When there are (choosing toyota vs Land Rover), that is the no brainer for me. I also don't consider Taiwan, Hong Kong and China to be the same as Japan (and neither would they), so I'm not conceding the electronics counter-argument.
