Toasted my alternator 300tdi, options??

Toasted my alternator in my 300tdi. Bearing went out. Need to replace or repair and get new serpentine belt.

Need to replace fast as I am leaving on a three and 1/2 week road trip from northern MN to florida. Entered in the Everglades Challenge 300 mile boat race from Tampa Bay to Key Largo in my solo canoe.

So options I know of would be a) order the 5 Franklin plus shipping alternator from Rovers North b) order the much less expensive aftermarket from Atlantic British, C) go to my local auto electric shop and have them rebuild my existing alternator (which looks like maybe it was aftermarket?) d) have one of you Land Rover geniuses help me out and give me another alternative. For example, is their some Delco or Napa equivalent alternator that I could use?

Figure I better replace the serpentine belt as well even thought it has less than 10K. Had a scorch smell when I opened the hood and by my pictures you can see that the pulley was out of whack when the bearing went. Could not have been good for the belt. Can I buy a Gates equivalent at Napa?

RDS has one listed for $270 not sure if that is the one you need or not but give George a call and he can tell you.

try searching the site, plenty info on Tdi alternator. There is an Iskra 100 amps unit for under 200$.

Will Tillery has them in stock. Not sure on price, but I think they're in the 200 neighborhood.
