timing belt idler stud
alright - having issues with the mentioned part (pictured). tried putting it in, torquing down the idler... and it stripped out the threads. awesome.
so, time for a helicoil. meh. troubling observation, though - the thread pitch on the engine side of the stud doesn't seem to be uniform. note the two photos w/ the helicoil threaded on; it starts w/ a good fit, but then the threads closer to the "bottom" spread the helicoil out. it goes from a 1.5 pitch to... something else?? the nut, which threads the entire length of the long end, binds about three threads from flush on the short end, too.
is there something going on here that i don't know about, or is this stud fukt?
