Time to buy the relays!

Well im about to do some major rewiring in my truck. Just bougt the Sears Diehard marine Platinum 31 group battery.

And im picking up a blue sea fuse panel

I need some relays and sockets to wire up fans, lights stereo, ect.

I was looking at this 10 pack with sockets... anyone ever use them?

Also I think the best place for me to put the fuse box is in the battery box, and the relays in the engine bay. Anyone ever done it in this fashion?

------ Follow up post added June 7th, 2011 05:00 PM ------

I was planning to feed the fuse box with 4 gauge power and replace the alternator feed cable to the battery with 4 gauge., as well.

200tdi btw, anyone does this? Should i go larger than 4?

Also if im running power to the relays in the bay is 12 gauge sufficient or should i go to 10?

For short wire runs, going "too big" isn't going to cost much extra, but you can use an online calculator like this to determine the minimum safe wire size to feed your relays.
