This may be blasphemous, but ?

I've been trying, for some time now, to get my wife to drive my Defender. She loves convertibles, and I'd like for her to enjoy what we all enjoy about D-90s. While she can drive a manual transmission, she says she just doesn't like to........

That being said, I performed a search, but I found no information about what would be involved in converting a '95 ST from a 5-speed manual to an automatic. Feasible? Possible? A stupid idea? I don't know, that's why I'm asking this deep well of knowledge.

Let me know if this is something I could pursue or if it's an idea I should abandon right off the bat.

Thanks.

Very doable
http://www.ashcroft-transmissions.co...iewCat&catId=7 - They also make one for the V8. If you do something like this it will look very factory.

The question comes down to cost and if you in the long run would want it original. If you have a really nice original truck it might just pay to sell it and buy a 97.
