Rover Land Alexandria

If your client is willing to drive into NOVA, go to Roverland4x4 in Alexandria. They do great work

I think this was mentioned before, but did Charles care at all if you brought in your own parts? No complaints?

Thanks.. I've used them and they bought the parts, and really was not happy with the overpricing; but the work was solid, so I'll probably have them do the stuff I don't want to tackle at home.

Not sure where else to put this but here goes

Had the best experience at Lamorna Garage today in Seattle after I needed to go there:

I was driving across the 520 bridge into Seattle when all of a sudden the stereo skipped (like an electrical fizzle). Next steering got real hard - no PAS pump. Hmm...Turn off the stereo, keep driving. Now I noticed the battery light came on and the tach was at 0. Oh shit - alternator must not be spinning...no power steering...must be the fan belt! Yup, sure enough, the temp gauge climbed all the way to the red. I popped it out of gear and looked for a place to stop, but could not find a place so I put the heater on full and watched the needle go back out of the red as I limped it off the bridge.

Shut down and popped to hood to investigate. PAS pump pulley was loose and hanging on by one loose bolt (two others missing). Belt was wrapped around the fan. Little bit of coolant seeped out of the overflow tank. and the alternator fan sheet metal spot welds were broken off half the fan.

Called up AAA and started a new membership, they sent a flatbed and took me straight to Gord'n at Lamorna Garage.

Gord'n pulled off the belt, PAS pulley, and alternator fan. Rummaging through his shop, he pulled the *correct* replacement parts off other 300tdi 'kits' he had sitting around! He bolted all the parts back onto the appropriate locations, and I drove it home.

So not counting the new AAA membership, cost of parts/labor was $142.15! Try that at a Rover dealer!

San Diego and Surrounding Areas

Premier Rover
8390 Miramar Place
Suite D
San Diego, CA 92121
858 344 4455

For all land rovers as Will, Dave and John are awesome and very knowledgeable. They like to talk me out of upgrades that sound good but do nothing for my truck.

If you need a tow, call them up as they have discounted rates with a tow truck operator and negotiated rates with Hertz should you need a rental car. The qoute work based on knowledge of job not on "suggested manual" time and will prioritize what needs to be fixed immediately going down the list to what is "suggested". They also work on other cars as well.

Hi all,

This is a great list. I hope you guys don't mind but I've compiled everything into a database. Not much functionality now but I'll add some sorting functions next week. It's currently ordered by state.

I also think this should list should be based on reference and experience... not just a listing of people who service LR's. That's what makes it valuable, right?

Let me know what you guys think... if someone wants to migrate this over or if you want me to just plain take it down!
