Does it fit along side the radiator, like in a single row or is it infront of the radiator? I know they have uprated intercoolers that fit the stock location along side the main radiator too.

If you get a bigger one that goes infront of the Rad you will be able to keep those EGT down so you could continue to run the 3/4 to full turn I imagine. Do you have AC?

Daniel Marcello,
Assuming it came from Pendy I bet Overlander's IC is the full-width one. I have the original size but uprated IC from Brunel (or Allisport?, I don't remember where I bought it).
The interesting thing about these engine tweakings is that you need to try for your own. I have the same engine as Overlander BUT my IC is different so I doubt I can just apply Overlander's recipe for the full-throttle screw in the injection pump and expect exactly the same result ..........but I can try.
Cheers,
Stgo

My radiator is not a full width/in front type. It is in stock location beside the radiator, but I think it's thicker than normal. It's shiny aluminum (not sure if stock is same). I do have A/C, so my condensor is in front of radiator and IC.

I thought that 1300 or so was the upper limit of EGT that one would want to see.

I agree. Those engines are all different. And im in now way offering a way to increase power because It could get out of hand real quick.

Overlander,
Ups, sorry for stepping in and adding confusion. So your IC is pretty much similar to mine (at least in width), another reason to give that screw a try.....).

Don't know what I was thinking when I wrote that! It was late. I hit around 1100-1150 on long climbs, which I tolerate for short durations. 1200 is my No Pass number.

On line at Garrett turbo website the fine print says 1330 for most turbos. They do have high performance ones that will handle 1500. I would be more worried about the aluminum head and head gasket.

Santiago, any idea who to contact in Sth America for parts ?

One of the fella's on AULRO has had a runaway with his 2.8 and he needs things like injectors.
I think he's ordering pistons, etc from M&D, but the injectors are up around 150 pounds each and the one in the bad cylinder is stuffed, with the other three not testing well.
Surprisingly the head and valves test OK.

The 2.8 uses the same main body as the 300Tdi injector but the nozzles are different.

Hello Rick,
I found out that information for Overlander (I think it was for him, not sure) a few months ago...mmmm, last year I believe it was. Let me see if I can find it and I will copy the link here. Basically the answer is YES, you can buy the parts here, in Buenos Aires for example. The shop I spoke with can deliver the parts to anywhere in the world.
Cheers
Stgo

Thanks mate, very much appreciated.

It's for unimformed (Sergio) and he started a thread here http://www.aulro.com/afvb/technical-...death-oil.html
He unfortunately overfilled it and had a runaway.
It scored # 2 bore and the injectors are cactus but at last the head's OK.

yep, and the outlet/ inlet hoses, and boost line. way less intimidating once you've done it once. recommend getting a new orange o ring for outlet elbow and a new metal gasket for turbo ( yours may or may not have one) before starting.

Anybody knows what type of probe I need to buy? I recall somebody mentioned (in this forum?) that for the 2.8 TGV you need to buy a "K" probe, whatever that means....I will probably buy the ones made by Auber instruments (http://www.auberins.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=139). I just need to knmow which probe. Perhaps I will ask in another (specific) thread but if anybody who has done it knows I will apreciate your guidance.
Thanks
Stgo
