Tdi pre-filter draining tap

On Tdi's there is a pre-filter close to the tank
designed to trap the water in the system.
That pre-filter has a draining tap/plug.
My plug is in so bad shape that i can not
figure exact diameter and thread.
Anyone know the size and specs of this
plug ? any substitute for that really weak
plastic part ?

Thanks

Not exactly sure - but I think it is a standard 6mm x 1.0 threaded bolt.

Looks like this is the one. I was thinking about having one made in brass because the plastic one is real crappy. I guess i'll order a new one just to check the thread.

I have low metal workshop labor cost down here, maybe a group buy ?

I'd be down for at least two. The same plug will fit the filter that is under the hood.

Yup, that's the sedimentor. handy if you fill up from jerrycans or a crappy fuel pump, they collect a lot of rubbish out of the fuel (shame I can't fit one to the Td5)

part number for that crappy plastic bung is 37H7920 4.66 UKP
