Tdi Like Night and Day

Well, I now know what all the hoopla is about. I finally got the 110
with the newly installed 300Tdi home today. Man, compared to the 2.5 NA
it replaced, these Tdi's ROCK!

Some of you may remember all the trouble I was having with poor running
and curious clicking sounds after we finally got the engine stuffed into
the 110. Well, got that all sorted out with new fuel pump and injector
washers and all seems good now.

What an eye opener driving the truck today. It actually accelerates and
easily maintained 110 kph on the highway, up a grade, and into a strong
headwind. To say I am a happy camper would be an understatement.

I've been driving the 110 with the 2.5 NA for the last year and a half
along with my Series 3 88 for the last 24 years, so I know under powered.
This is a hugh improvement.

Just wanted to say hey.

Brett

Made it further than half of the other guys, but the Hammers won.

Just in time to experience the $4.50/gallon price point! Congratulations!
- and if you thought the 2.5 NA is slow try a worn out 2.25 diesel in an old 109 - the 2.5 is a powerhouse by comparison......

Brett,

Glad to see you got it sorted. Twiddle around with some of the settings and see it really go.

new expansion complete. Not only are we the only Rover shop in Eliot Maine...now we're also the biggest.

I liked the 2.5 NA, don't get me wrong. Way better mileage than I am getting from the 2.25 petrol in my 88. But the Tdi is obviously way better. WAY better.

Was wondering about that actually Matt. I do I know the setting have not already been twiddled?

No bumming meant! The 2.5NA is a right of passage. Every guy should go through the pain of owning one!

I am going to make sure that both my daughters own one. It will be comforting to know they can not go faster than 60mph
