tdi guage part #s?

I'd like to replace the poorly functioning H2O temp guage (and sender) in the 110 and install an EGT guage and sensor as well as install a tach. Anyone have the appropriate VDO part numbers?

Many thanks!

Tony

Do you really need an EGT gauge?
in a stock 300Tdi I'd replace the original water gauge & sensor.
Water Temperature Sensor (1/8-27 NPT) 323-095
Water Temperature Gauge 310-105 (VDO Vision)
Besides the temperature indication a temperature alarm is also advisable, a twisted head is pretty expensive to fix.

Tachometer (0-6000 RPM) 333-158 (VDO Vision)

Tony,

eguages.com is where Pendy (Rover Yota) suggested as well. Since this truck only has a speedo, fuel guage, and wayward temp guage you realy are starting with a blank canvas.

I'm thinking mud uk console from ee and, and........

Replace them all.... Once you have one Vision gauge the rest look like crap.

http://members.shaw.ca/red90/maingaugesnight.jpg

and yes, I have a speedo ready to go in.

I'm not sure about the 300TDI, but on my 200TDI, I was able to get a VDO water temp sender that was a direct fit, part #323-026, 5/8" UNF. It also has a warning contact which I've hooked to a light and a buzzer.

BTW, why can we not post pictures in the posts here???

The question is "why can't YOU post pix in the posts here" - everyone else can

Just go to "manage attachments" in the "additional options" box further down the reply to thread page and attach away.

Yes egauges.com Vision series. Go wild!

I can talk you through your options if you like. Only if you do a thread on it so I can stop explaining everything to everyone about this topic.

OK, I should have said "why can't we display linked pictures here?" It must be specifically disabled to not work as this is the only board I've ever seen this.

Let's make this the thread, then. Pat kindly listed some part numbers which are all still valid on the eguages site. I'd like to include an egr temp guage so that when you (Pendy) come to pick up your rigs you can help me tune up this motor and I can monitor temps
I'd think that oil pressure and temp would be nice to monitor, but defer to the diesel experts for guidance. As Doug said, I have a blank slate and with Charles giving me that nice MUDUK console (thanks, Charles!) I've got a lot of space I can fill.

Good man! Now I just need all of the appropriate part numbers -- need guage and sender pns for Oil, Volt and EGT (don't make me actually do any work here, OK?)

Driveway space -- Check
Relatives in Towing -- no check, but I do know of a 90 that needs to be transported to CO . . .

Always for a 300tdi VDO Vision (used on my 90 300tdi)

Engine Oil temperature
gauge 300F 310-106
Sender: 300F/150C 1/8-27 NPT 323-057

Engine Oil Pressure (electrical)
0-80 psi gauge (10-180 Ohms) 350-104
Pressure Sender: 0-80 PSI/5 Bar with warning contact 7.0 PSI 360-009
I use the warning contact in parallel with the one that comes on the vehicle

Voltmeter
16 Volts Voltmeter 332-103

Fuel Level
Fuel level gauge 240-33 Ohm 301-105
I use an LR genuine sender for 90 Td5 and it works perfect, the genuine sender for 300tdi did not match the 301-105 gauge.

Boost
0-30 PSI 150-103 (I haven't installed yet)

Outstanding, thanks! Now we just need a write-up on installing them all and we're set (OK, I'm set).

Tony-
I should have been more specific in post #4, when I posted this:

http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...ad.php?t=11105

It contains every piece of info you've asked for in this thread, write-ups from people that did the work, and a lot of trouble shooting experience from people solving problems.

Thanks Jim, I'll go back through the thread, though when I looked through it initially I missed and real mention of hooking up any senders to a tdi. I'll re-read it though.

I went through and consolidated all the threads a while back. Trying to make them easier to find in searches - all the part numbers are in there, but it might be buried. I'm still trying to figure out how to call attention to all the best content.

Does anyone make a pod to install another gauge somewhere? With the 2002 dash, I have limited room for gauges but plenty of room for switches...errrrr.. Im never happy

Randy,

Mud uk makes a pop-up thats sits on top of the dash pad.

http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/images/0.gif http://www.mudstuff.co.uk/images/0.gifProducts > MudPod 40.00

The MudPod is another MUD designed solution that solves the problem of how/where to mount extra switches, controls and gauges into the Defender dashboard. The MudPod provides a neat and simple to install solution for competition users, expedition vehicles and emergency vehicles whose requirements demand additional dashboard space in order to accommodate auxiliary controls. The textured finish of the ABS moulding replicates the Defender dashboard texture to provide a 'factory' look once the MudPod has been installed.
