Tdi Fording Plug Size?

Anyone know the fording plug thread size? I also have a threaded hole in my timing cover that looks to be the same.

On the 300tdi they are 1/4 BSP same thread as the oil drain plug. I just ordered mine from RN, it was easy!

Use NAPA #704-1361
A nice little drain plug with a plastic gasket. Works perfectly as a wading plug.
M14x1.5 if you want a bolt (but the NAPA plug is better)

I do not check PMs. Call or email if you need something.

ECR is not a parts source. We are not in the mail order business.

As a follow up, the Napa #704-1361 worked perfectly and is the correct thread size is indeed M14mmx1.5! Not sure where the 1/4bsp comes from, are they similar threads?

If I recall correctly, 1/4 BSP was one thread per inch off of 1/4 NPT. I was able to use my 1/4 NPT tap to clean out the threads on the oil pan of my 300tdi.

thread pith of 1/4 bsp is 1.337mm, major diameter 13.157mm. So yeah it is conceivable that it would fit a short length of 14 x 1.5, and vice versa.
