TD5 temp guage moves with accelerator.

Hello all, this morning on my way to work I noticed my temp gauge was moving to the input of the accelerator, if i revved her the needle moves instantly down to the cold end and as the Rev stabilises ( to idle ) the needle returns to proper operation position. I will be posting a video, can anyone shed some light please.

I had the same issue on my 1996 Tdi. I didn't spent too much time troubleshooting and I was under the impression it would be a ground issue. So I replace the gauge and sensor and the wire between the sensor and gauge and it all good since then. I bought a gauge from and now I can monitor both water temp and voltage from one gauge. I also had Mcnally's gauge with boost/EGT so I knew I was getting quality gauges.
