TD5 Fuel Tank Sending Unit

Does anybody know if a TD5 fuel quantity sender uses different resistance than the standard sender? My gauge shows full when full but never goes down below 3/4ish with the tank near depletion. I'm hoping to not have to drop the tanks to change out the sender.

Thanks

They should be the same. Lots of people use a TD5 gauge cluster in older vehicles.

Great, guess I'll be dropping the tanks. Any idea if the hole for the sender is different than an older tank?

Older tanks had the sender in the side of the tank (no need to drop). AFAIK, TD5 uses the top port for a combined fuel pump and sender. I'm not exactly clear what you have in your truck.

It's mounted on the top. The tank is a WHK100050
