Td5 110 opinion

Thinking about rhino lining my td5 110. Truck had carpet which has been removed revealing some surface rust. Want to prevent this from recurring. Also considering ex moor matting kit. Thoughts??

I wouldnt do it. Its really hard to undo. If you are not going to dynamat and carpet, with the paint code you can always get a paint supply shop make up some paint in a spray can for touch ups. I have had the Beluga Black and Alpine White made up for this same issue. In the SW, I ended up going back with carpet and mat.

Get a NAS D90 ST rear rubber mat for the back (trim to fit) and get mats for the front and seat box.

Much of my 110 rebuild has centered around mechanical issues, followed by rust mitigation and acoustics. While the body was completely apart, post-paint, I sprayed the rear tub, seat box and inside of the aluminum door skins. I used Line-x. I have mixed feelings about it. The body structure is rather porous and the lining can help to seal many of the tub seams. It will also change the frequency at which the tub resonates ala VDM like Dynamat, Fat Mat etc. On my tub, the guy laid down ~.125" on the sides and ~.25" on the floor. The unanticipated floor thickness messed with some of the tolerances for my roll cage install. Not terrible, but an unanticipated PITA.

IMO, fix your rust issues and yank the carpet. Get the 3 piece Exmoor Trim seat box and tunnel mat set and a heavy rear bed mat..

I don't get why some people hate spray-on liners so much. I have it in my truck and love it. If you have rubber mats on bare floor, water can get trapped just like with the carpet and lead to rust, right?

I have the Exmoor molded mat on top of the liner and don't worry when water gets underneath.

Worst thing the previous owner did to my truck. Don't so it. Fix the rust, good paint and your set. It's rough and annoying every time you touch it, it doesn't stop stuff from sliding around anyways

Don't do it!

Once bed lined the modular design is taken away. If you ever want to pull the floor boards you will have a hard time doing it unless you pull everything and have it lined separately. Of course if you never plan on taking things apart then it is a non-issue.
