Synthetic Oil vs Standard ?

I am planning on changing the oil tommorrow and need some info, Autozone carries the STP and Fram filters and they recommend the PH16 / s16 filters which I know is smaller than the one that is presently on the truck. Are these the right filters or does someone have any suggestions on what size I should replace with. Next question, my truck has just shy of 149k miles, is it too late to switch to synthetic oil, or is there any benefit, what oil weight should I use w/ a vehicle w/ this mileage. Lastly Im thinking of changing the oil cooler lines, anyone w/ any suggestions on where these can be purchased, ie autozone, oreillys, advance auto. Any info is appreciated, Thanks, Thomas

There are long discussions on all three of your questions. A good search should answer all of them for you.
