How much is the Nick's motor mounts and transfer adapter? Sorry I haven't researched enough yet, but why isn't anyone using an LS and manual?

You could go off the reservation a bit and use a GM to 4cyl adapter and use that to install some kind of Chevy inline 6. Used to be a popular conversion with series trucks back in the day, no reason it wouldnt also work with the 4cyl LT77 and would physically fit better with the long nose. If you stayed with something carbureted and know how to fab a set of engine mounts you could probably be all done for short money and a couple weekends of work. But beware, your resale value will likely take a hit because its not an original truck nor a typically desired conversion.
