Surrey bar bolts

Can someone let me know the size bolts needed to install the bar on top of the front window to hold in my surrey top. I've been told 10mm but want to confirm.

Thanks

there are a few bars involved. 2 with snaps that go above the front doors (called the snap rails) and by front window I'm assuming you mean windshield? That's called the Header Bar.

Any that fit. Mine are 7/16 and 10mm HEXES. But w/e. if it fits through the hole... its the right one.

On mine at least, a '97 I used M6 (10mm heads) x 1.5 the pitch is 1.0. I would recommend stainless as well and I would spray them lightly with oil before you insert them. They will get a tendency to bind a bit with the rivnuts at the top of the windscreen, since they are aluminum. If you have the tool, you may want to tighten the rivnuts a bit or one or two may spin when you go to remove them down the line. I would also recommend a washer under the bolt head, since the bolts will tend to score the soft aluminum mounting bar.

I don't get it.

Lots of guys in the southbay with trucks. Let's make sure to never have a meet up.

Thanks Tim.

M6 is it. Do you know if this is a bolt I can get at a local hardware store or do I need to special order?

Looks like I can go and ask the guys at Chessecake Factory, since it's close to my house! HA!

Go to the wall of drawers at an Ace or True Value Hardware store, they should have them in a variety of lengths and in stainless. It would be in the wall of many drawers.
